Description
Every year thousands of black people come to Durham, NC to commemorate Black August and celebrate each other. A sea of black people take over a downtown park creating a scene reminiscent of a family reunion featuring music, food trucks, activities for the whole family, and social justice organizations engaged in work to get us free.
Black August in the Park is a space created specifically for people of the African Diaspora--their joy and healing. Whatever your Black looks like, we want you to bring it.
